What you'll be doing

Implement and lead the Patient and Family Engagement components of the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network (SCHN) Clinical Governance Framework, as informed by the SCHN Strategic Plan, the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards and any other relevant NSW Health materials with the support of the Patient and Family Engagement - Network Manager.
Support and develop the Network’s capacity to engage patients, families and community members in the strategic planning, delivery and evaluation of services in a way which is consistent with the International Association of Public Participation (IAP2). This will be achieved through the creation of effective and accessible processes, training and support and information.
Support and develop the Network’s capacity in achieving and maintaining accreditation against the NSQHS Standards (2nd ed.) with a focus on the specific requirements in the Partnering with Consumers Standard.

Qualifications in (or currently studying for a qualification) a welfare/healthcare discipline or equivalent experience

Demonstrated ability in working in partnership with patients, families and carers

Demonstrated ability to build staff capacity to support patients, families and carers

High level interpersonal communication and written skills including the ability to consult, engage and negotiate effectively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders

Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively across a range of differing tasks

Excellent project management skills, including managing multiple projects and deadlines

Able to demonstrate qualities such as integrity, warmth, humility, friendliness and enthusiasm.

A capacity to understand complaint management and conflict resolution
