The Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Business Development Manager to join our dynamic team here at Worldwide Events. This is a pivotal role for a seasoned sales professional who thrives in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments and has a proven track record of driving business growth.
As a key player in our ambitious expansion plans, you'll be instrumental in launching and scaling our exciting new events in the global travel arena. You'll leverage your expertise and industry network to identify and seize new business opportunities, forge strategic partnerships, and expand our market presence in a rapidly evolving sector.

Key Responsibilities:
New Business Development:
  • Identify, pursue, and secure new business leads to establish and expand our presence in emerging markets.
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets and maximize market share.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, exhibitors, and key industry stakeholders.
Strategic Partnerships and Sponsorships:
  • Identify and negotiate partnerships and sponsorship opportunities to enhance our event offerings.
  • Collaborate with potential sponsors to create tailored packages that meet their marketing and business objectives.
Market Analysis and Strategy:
  • Conduct in-depth market research to understand emerging trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs.
  • Utilise insights to inform and refine sales strategies, ensuring our events address market gaps and stand out as premier industry gatherings.
Sales Team Collaboration:
  • Work closely with the Director of Sales to support the Business Development Managers and Executives towards achieving ambitious sales targets.
  • Foster a collaborative environment where innovation thrives, and team members are empowered to excel.
Event Participation and Networking:
  • Represent Worldwide Events at industry events, exhibitions, and networking functions to promote our offerings.
  • Engage proactively with potential clients and partners through face-to-face meetings, sales trips, and event attendance.
Reporting and CRM Management:
  • Maintain accurate records of all business development activities using Salesforce CRM.
  • Prepare and present insightful sales reports, forecasts, and pipeline updates to senior management, informing strategic decisions.

To excel in this role, you should have:
  • Experience: 5+ years in senior business development or sales role within the exhibitions, events, or related industries.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence decision-makers at all levels.
  • Sponsorship Expertise Ideal: Demonstrated ability to conceptualise and sell sponsorship packages, ideally in a large-scale event or expo context.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical abilities to identify and capitalise on market opportunities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Highly motivated, entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for building and growing new business.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel around the world as required.
Desirable Qualifications and experience:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) or Certified Special Events Professional (CSEP).
  • Proficiency in Salesforce and Airtable, or similar CRM and cloud collaboration tools.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams.
  • Experience with virtual and hybrid events, utilising event technology platforms.
  • Proficiency in additional languages beyond English.
