The Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Business Development Manager to join our dynamic team here at Worldwide Events. This pivotal role is ideal for a dynamic professional with a proven track record in the exhibition or events industry. As a key player in our ambitious expansion plans, you'll be instrumental in launching and scaling our exciting new events in the global travel arena. You'll leverage your expertise and industry network to identify and seize new business opportunities, forge strategic partnerships, and elevate our market presence. Your passion, energy, and entrepreneurial spirit will help shape the future of our company and the industry at large.
Key Responsibilities:
Revenue Generation:
- Identify, pursue, and secure new business leads to establish and expand our presence in emerging markets.
- Achieve or exceed assigned revenue targets by executing effective sales campaigns within allocated territories.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with new clients, exhibitors, and key industry stakeholders.
- Manage the full sales process, including prospecting, negotiating, and closing deals with clients and sponsors.
- Explore and evaluate new business opportunities to maximise revenue potential.
- Maintain and develop strong relationships with existing clients to drive repeat business and renewals.
- Regularly engage with potential clients through face-to-face meetings, sales trips, and attendance at industry trade shows and our events.
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging market opportunities.
- Provide feedback and insights to the Senior Business Development Manager to inform strategic decisions.
- Maintain accurate records of all business development activities using Salesforce CRM.
- Prepare and present regular sales reports, forecasts, and pipeline updates to senior management.

- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a business development or sales role within the exhibitions, events, or related industries.
- Demonstrated success in exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence decision-makers at all levels.
- Strong strategic thinking and analytical abilities to identify and capitalise on market opportunities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
- Highly motivated, entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for building and growing new business.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to travel internationally for events and client meetings as required.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) or Certified Special Events Professional (CSEP).
- Proficiency in Salesforce and Airtable, or similar CRM and cloud collaboration tools.
- Advanced skills in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams.
- Experience with virtual and hybrid events, utilising event technology platforms.
- Proficiency in additional languages beyond English.
