The Role
As a Production Operative at Clayton Glass, you will play an essential role in the manufacturing and processing of high-quality glass products. Your responsibilities will include supporting our production processes, ensuring top-notch quality, and adhering to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operating Machinery: You will be responsible for operating various machines involved in cutting, shaping, and processing glass. This includes following operational instructions and adhering to safety guidelines.
- Handling and Processing Glass: Safely loading and unloading glass onto production lines or machines, ensuring that glass sheets or components are handled with care to avoid damage.
- Quality Control: Conducting quality checks on finished glass products to identify any defects, such as cracks or chips, and reporting any issues to your supervisor.
- Assembly and Packaging: Assisting with the assembly of glass units, such as double glazing, and packaging products for safe transportation or further production stages.
- Safety and Maintenance: Ensuring all tasks are performed in compliance with health and safety regulations. You will also conduct basic maintenance checks on equipment and report any faults or malfunctions.
- Material Handling: Moving raw materials to the production area and organizing inventory as needed to keep the production process flowing smoothly.
- General Production Support: Working closely with your team to meet production targets, maintaining a clean workspace, and supporting various tasks as needed to ensure an efficient workflow.

- Able to follow instructions accurately and perform tasks diligently.
- Punctual, with a strong attendance record, and fully committed to your shift hours.
- Manual dexterity. Good hand-eye coordination and physical fitness, as the role involves lifting and standing.
- Driving Licence
- Previous experience in a factory or manufacturing environment.
- Flexibility in working hours, with the ability to work night shifts if required.

- Working Hours / Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week with rotating weekly shifts:
- Week 1: 06:00 - 14:00
- Week 2: 14:00 - 22:00
- Positions Available: Up to 2 openings
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: From £11.44 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
