Summary – basic function of the role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Cramlington, Northumberland on a permanent basis. In this role, you will be responsible for implementation of production processes and procedures, leading productivity improvements with project based activities, including new product introduction and manufacturing cell design to reduce waste, improve quality and safety, and reduce operating costs.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Working with colleagues in Operations and Engineering, create drawing changes, design updates, material changes andother related
- Improve manufacturing efficiency by analysing and planning work flow, space requirements and equipment layout
- Work with Design Engineering to assure designs fit the best manufacturing processes. Request engineering changes to reduce costs, improve quality or decrease manufacturing times
- Work closely with the Production team and CI team to continuously improve and standardize current processes, develops and implements improved processes and incorporates into designs
- Champion Bo M and product routing data integrity.
- Assist with shop floor layout, jigs, fixtures and cell designs to improve manufacturing and assembly efficiency and quality.
- Generate and maintain production documentation such as assembly instructions
- Reduce variability in manufacturing by providing standard work methods and work instructions. Ensure product and processquality meets specifications required
- Investigates and troubleshoots process problems as they occur and takes necessary corrective actions
- Identify equipment needs and further investigates and assist with preparation of capital equipment justifications
- Represent the Company in a professional manner at all times, both internally and externally. Follow the publishedprocesses and comply with all company policies and procedures. Be an ambassador for the businesses in particularensure that Health & Safety comes first at all times
- Highly analytical with strong data collection and analysis skills to drive decision making.
- Be an effective team member, working with supervisor and colleagues to ensure smooth workflow with maximum output
- Assertive, resilient and welcomes change
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Engineering degree is required, with a Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering preferred
- Experience of 1 year minimum in manufacturing/machining processes
- Hands on experience in a workshop environment
- Experience of process improvement within a Lean environment would be a plus.

Pay: Up to £33,000.00 per year
