Community Staff Nurse

December 3, 2024

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced registered nurse to join our team as a community staff nurse within the District Nursing Service in Kirkcaldy locality community nursing service.

You are required to be a registered Nurse, Community Nursing experience is beneficial but not essential. You should be enthusiastic and have excellent communication skills. Working within the community you will be required to have a range of clinical skills and extensive clinical knowledge to support your decision making in practice. The successful candidate will need to be able to work within a team but also have the knowledge and skills to work as a lone worker to support delivery of quality care within the community.

The community nursing service delivers care and support 24 hours per day. The post will include working weekends and public holidays. You may be required to work evenings or within other localities to meet the needs of the service on occasions.

An ability to travel across the locality is essential.

For informal enquiries, please contact Emma Mc Auley, District Nurse Team Leader on 07900 161702 / emma.mcauley2@nhs.scot.

A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Prior to appointment.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Recruiting Board.

NHS Fife is legally obliged to ensure all its employees are legally entitled to work in the United Kingdom. If you are not a United Kingdom (UK) or Irish National, you are required to confirm your right to work in your application.
