Elimini are developing a multi-billion, Bioenergy Carbon Capture & Storage (BECCS) which aims to deliver carbon removals at megaton scale.
Are you a passionate and creative Communications Director who thrives in delivering challenging yet rewarding projects?
As the Communications Director, you’ll be a critical part of the team delivering the external, internal media activity for Elimini globally and you’ll lead on developing proactive and reactive media relations strategies.
You’ll play a central role in advising senior leaders on the appropriate media relations approach, and also supporting the broader reputational strategy by building trust with journalists to support the delivery of Elimini’s business objectives. The role will also ensure consistency across internal and external messaging.
You’ll also support in delivering campaigns by working collaboratively with colleagues in government affairs and digital communications. You’ll also proactively build relationships with journalists across a range of global, national and trade media outlets. They will also have day to day engagement with agency resources, as well as working in collaboration with business and project teams.
About the role
As the Communications Director, you’ll be responsible for, but not limited to
- Leading on shaping, coordinating and delivering the media relations strategy, developing and implementing team-wide or company media plans as needed
- Plan and deliver proactive and reactive communications strategies for internal and external audiences.

Mobilise stakeholder support for Elimini and demonstrate the business’ commitment to its people and the communities in which it operates via media relations outreach and interaction
Work to protect and enhance Elimini’s reputation in outlets read by key stakeholders. - Ensure Elimini’s sustainability and community credentials are embedded in the media strategy and messaging
- Advance the profile of Elimini’s senior leaders by using the media as a vehicle
- Lead a regular cadence of outreach and education to media on issues of strategic importance to the business
- Work with the events team on the execution of executive speaking engagements and media interviews and visits; review/draft and approval of supporting materials such as speeches, key message documents, Q&A and other briefing materials
About you
You’ll have significant experience in a communications/journalism role, preferably within a heavily regulated sector
It will go without saying, you’ll have exceptional writing skills and experience developing content and stories for a range of media platforms, in a fast-paced environment
Essential to this role is that you’ll have the ability to use and thrive, using your own initiative to develop story ideas and sell these into appropriate media outlets/journalists.
With your experience, you’ll demonstrate to fantastic ability within storytelling and planning skills. Your ability to take complex information and make it accessible across a variety of channels, for multiple audiences
You’ll demonstrate your experience in building a media contact network as well as your experience of managing supplier relationships, including working with external agencies, in delivering against KPIs
You’ll be excited to lead new and exciting approaches to our communications strategy that will enhance and elevate Elimini
