About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled HCPC-registered Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to join our team, specializing in working with young people (ages 8-18) who are dealing with eating disorders and complex co-morbidities. These may include autism spectrum conditions (ASC), complex trauma, emerging emotionally unstable personality disorder (EUPD), depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and self-harm.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Duties:
- Specialist Assessments: Perform in-depth psychological assessments using various tools such as psychometric tests, self-report measures, and structured interviews with patients, their families, and caregivers.
- Treatment Planning: Create and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and national guidelines (e.g., NICE, MEED).
- Therapeutic Delivery: Deliver psychological treatments at individual, family, and group levels, applying both theoretical and evidence-based approaches while considering the patient’s background.
- Risk Management: Conduct psychological risk assessments, manage risks, and provide expert advice on psychological aspects of risk to the multidisciplinary team.
- CPA Participation: Support and contribute to care planning under the Care Programme Approach (CPA).
- Consultation: Provide psychological insights and consultation to multidisciplinary team (MDT) professionals.
- Program Development: Develop and lead joint treatment programs with other staff members.
- Record Keeping: Maintain high standards of clinical record-keeping and report writing in accordance with HCPC, BPS, and organizational policies.
- Policy Contribution: Contribute to the development and evaluation of operational policies and services through research and service evaluation.
- Record Maintenance: Keep accurate records and statistics as required by the organization.
- Resource Management: Ensure safe and effective use of psychological test materials and equipment.
- Supervision: Receive regular clinical and professional supervision from a senior or consultant psychologist.
- Training Contribution: Supervise recently qualified psychologists, assistant psychologists, and therapeutic support workers.
- Workload Management: Manage the workloads of assistant and graduate psychologists in line with BPS policies.
- Professional Advice: Offer specialized psychological advice and guidance to MDT professionals.
- Training Participation: Contribute to the training and supervision of doctoral clinical or counselling psychology trainees.
- Evidence-Based Practice: Apply evidence-based literature and research to support best practices within the organization.
- Audits and Research: Conduct audits and provide research guidance; participate in service improvement projects.
- Service Evaluation: Engage in service evaluation and supervise assistant psychologists.
- Outcome Measures: Work with managers to ensure compliance with outcome measures and relevant standards.
- Professional Standards: Maintain high professional standards through continuous CPD and development programs.
- Best Practices: Promote best practices in psychology, stay updated with developments in the field, and participate in regular professional supervision.
- Knowledge Update: Stay informed about relevant legislation, policies, and mental health issues affecting the patient population.
- Information Compliance: Ensure timely and accurate clinical information and maintain up-to-date data on electronic systems.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Collaborate closely with other professional groups and participate in relevant meetings.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: £55,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
