We are seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Network Engineer, who will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and scalability of radio and fibre infrastructure, while overseeing the end-to-end implementation of complex network projects. You will also play a crucial role in supporting and optimizing our ISP services to guarantee exceptional customer experiences.
Responsibilities
Network Design & Planning

• Develop and execute network solutions incorporating fiber optic and radio technologies for optimized coverage and resilience.
• Perform site surveys, feasibility studies, and capacity planning to assess potential network expansion opportunities.
• Define specifications for network installations and upgrades, balancing cost efficiency with service quality.

Implementation & Deployment

• Lead the deployment of network infrastructure, ensuring compliance with technical standards and safety protocols.
• Manage the installation, configuration, and integration of fiber optic and radio network components, such as routers, switches, and access points.
• Oversee vendor and contractor coordination for installations, quality checks, and technical support.

Monitoring & Troubleshooting

• Use network monitoring tools to proactively detect and resolve performance issues, minimizing service disruptions.
• Conduct advanced diagnostics and provide escalation support to troubleshoot complex network issues.
• Perform root cause analysis and document corrective actions for continuous network improvement.

Optimization & Upgrades

• Analyze network metrics and optimize configurations to improve network performance, including speed, latency, and reliability.
• Plan and execute network upgrades to accommodate increased demand, incorporating new technologies as necessary.
• Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in fiber optics, radio technology, and ISP practices.
• Team Leadership & Development of Junior Network Engineers
• Supervise, mentor, and provide technical guidance to junior network engineers, supporting their development and performance.
• Assign tasks and oversee the work of junior engineers, ensuring adherence to best practices, quality standards, and project timelines.
• Provide training and learning resources to junior team members to enhance their technical skills and understanding of network infrastructure.
• Conduct regular check-ins and performance assessments for junior engineers, identifying areas for improvement and growth.

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, changes, and maintenance schedules.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations and ISP standards for network operations and safety.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Network Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Team management and operations experience
• Experience: 5+ years in network engineering, ideally within an ISP or telecommunications environment.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in fiber optic and radio network design, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• In-depth knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS) and equipment (routers, switches, radios).
• Skilled in network monitoring tools (e.g., Wireshark, Solar Winds).
• Proficient in climbing towers and working at heights as required for radio installations.
• Strong knowledge of network protocols, security practices, and performance optimization, ensuring efficient and secure operations across radio and fiber network infrastructure
• Certifications: CCNP, JNCIP, or equivalent preferred.
• Other Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, effective communication, and a collaborative approach to team projects
