Role Introduction
Reports to: Senior Solution Lead
This role is part of the Solution Centre in our Information Technology (IMT) department who strive to be at the forefront of technological innovations and provide a seamless experience for our customers.
As the Solution Analyst, you will play a crucial role in implementing end-to-end data warehouse, data catalogue and BI solutions, including Airline Operations Information Data warehouse and Data Catalogue, ETL and BI components; maintain and continuous enhancement of the solutions and components.
With your expertise and skills in solution delivery, you will be an integral part of our Business Intelligence team to support our Data Modelling and DBA sub-team, gaining exposure in data solutions at a scale which only a world-renowned airline can provide.

Key Responsibilities
- Analyse business requirements, document technical design and specifications
- Participate in data modelling for the Airline Operations Information Data Warehouse and its Data Catalogue; as well as Extract/Transform/Load (ETL) data integration and Business Intelligence tool as secondary focus
- Develop solutions components using combination of AWS services including Redshift, Dynamo DB, Lake Formation, Lambda, Glue, Step, SNS and Cloud Watch
- Automate and integrate system data exchange through API
- Manage vendors and oversee QA on their deliverables in detail and ensure any defects and non-compliance in standards addressed promptly
- Work within project team to deliver solutions and potentially support all aspects of the delivery including analysis, implementation, configuration, testing, demonstration and service transition
- Work with Enterprise Testing team to ensure project testing meets the company practices and standards
- Collaborate with other IT teams to drive business and technology innovation
- Work under Scrum Agile development framework
- Keep abreast of the business strategy, business plan and latest industrial trends
- Degree qualification in Information Technology related discipline
- At least 3 years of working experience in Application Database (AWS Redshift), Data Catalogue and scrum practices
- Proficiency in Java Script, Python, JSON, RESTful API and/or web services development is a must
- Ability to listen and articulate ideas verbally and in written formats to a broad range of audiences; ability to ask probing questions and deliver presentations
- Experience in BI tools (Asset curation, lineage, metadata and data quality management, ETL, Cognos, Alteryx, Qliksense, tableau etc.) is preferred
- Good understanding of Data Warehouse and Data Lakehouse and competence in SQL preferably AWS Redshift, Lake Formation, Glue is a plus
- Understanding of Cloud, Dev Ops, Mobile Development would be advantageous
- Experience in Unix/ Linux, as well as AWS cloud platform is beneficial
- Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders effectively
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure
- Good command in both spoken and written English and Chinese
