Reports to: Global Total Rewards Manager - Policy & Governance
In Cathay, we champion a culture that celebrates success and rewards performance. As part of the Global Total Rewards, you will contribute to the design and management of our total reward programmes to support talent attraction, retention and drive motivation of our employees.
As the Total Rewards Manager in this team, you will not be doing a usual compensation and benefits role but you will be responsible for the management and implementation of Cathay's policies related to compensation and benefits. It is a crucial role that you will be in a governance role to ensure the effectiveness and compliance of the policies. On top of that, you will also gain exposure to managing the entire change process where you can really make an impact as a subject matter expert from a governance perspective.
Candidates with less experience will be considered as Total Rewards Lead with potential progression opportunity to a Manager role in the future.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the Company’s policies related to total rewards, and ensure that all policies are compliant with legal requirements and industry best practices
- Continuously review and assess the effectiveness of existing policies and reward processes by conducting market research, data analysis and risk assessment, etc., to identify improvement opportunities for further enhancement implementation
- Manage the entire change process of policy and reward frameworks and processes for enhancement
- Create and maintain total rewards-related internal guidelines, ensuring clarity, consistency, and compliance across the Company
- Develop and maintain an internal manual within the Global Total Rewards team, including rewards procedures and governance, to ensure all processes are clearly documented and compliant with company policies and regulations
- Be the subject matter expert to update and advise other People Centre of Excellence teams (e.g. Business Partner and Talent Acquisition teams), shared services team and regional People teams on the latest policies and rewards framework and changes
- Degree holder in human resources management, organizational psychology or business-related discipline
- 8 years of working experience as an in-house human resources (HR) professional and/or in HR consultancy preferably in multinational organizations
- At least 6 years of hands-on experience in compensation and benefits or an HR generalist role, with proven track record in leading and implementing rewards or HR transformation projects
- Prior supervisory or people management experience is preferred
- Excellent project management skills with ability to effectively plan, organize and prioritize multiple projects
- Familiar with statutory and compliance requirements including Employment Ordinance, pensions legislations and other relevant laws and regulations for Hong Kong and other regions around the world
- Proficient skills in MS Office and experience in using HRIS system (Oracle), Compensation Management software, and HR analytics tools e.g. Power BI, excel
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to work under pressure and independently with ability to follow tight deadlines and adopt an agile approach
