Senior Procurement Officer

- Maintain a detailed documentary record related to the program, individual projects and any set work pieces.
- Contribute to research and preparation of submissions, reports, briefing materials and correspondence and provide expert analysis and advice to senior management on matters relating to the program.
- Contribute to a high level of professional practice in the branch by maintaining a sound knowledge of contemporary procurement strategies, policies and practices and an awareness of Government priorities and initiatives that have implications for the procurement function.
- Contribute to the achievement of an equitable, ethical and safe working environment for staff, which has an emphasis on commitment, skills development, professional growth and continuous improvement directed towards the achievement of the branch goals and objectives.
The essential requirements for this role are-
- Demonstrated experience in analysing procurement data to support the derivation of insights.
- Demonstrated experience in supporting categories of spend, applying category management processes, developing sourcing strategies, business cases and category plans.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in contributing to the development of organisational procurement policies, practices and systems.
- Demonstrated knowledge of applying organisational procurement policies, practices and systems.
- Demonstrated communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, including the ability to advise and influence clients and senior management on complex procurement issues.
- Demonstrated understanding of project management including the ability to scope projects, manage conflicting priorities and deliver to tight timeframes.
- Experience working in public and private sector across a range of industries is desired.
- Operational experience at a across the end-to-end procurement value chain is desired.
- While not mandatory, undergraduate studies in supply chain, procurement, business, law or related fields would be well regarded.
- Ability to work across southeast Queensland sites.
