Position Duties
Loyola University Maryland's Department of Visual & Performing Arts invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in Studio Arts. We are seeking a diverse and dynamic candidate with experience in interdisciplinary studio art practices in combination with a deep commitment to undergraduate teaching and mentorship. Tenure-track faculty teach three courses per semester and engage actively in creative practice/research related to their chosen area(s) of expertise. In addition to teaching and research expectations, tenure-track faculty have the opportunity to mentor undergraduate students and participate in meaningful ways in the life of the department and university.
The successful candidate will possess a passion for creative work with a comprehensive understanding of theoretical issues within the realms of art and visual culture. The department is looking to utilize our existing studios, especially in printmaking. In addition, we value experienced artists who can speak to the experience of supporting oneself through creative ventures and teach students the skills of professional practices.

Responsibilities:Â
- Engage in creative work and contribute to the department's artistic community Â
- Teach undergraduate courses (typically 3/3 load) in visual arts, fostering critical thinking and creative exploration Â
- Mentor and advise undergraduate students, supporting their artistic development Â
- Contribute to departmental and university service activities Â
- Stay current with developments in the field and contribute to scholarship in the visual arts Â

Compensation Range:
$73,000.00 - $75,750.00
Required Qualifications:Â
- Diverse and inclusive perspective

- Strong commitment to creative work and research with a demonstrable record of excellence Â
- Dedication to undergraduate teaching and mentorship Â
- Ability to teach sections of Studio Arts’ 2d Design foundations course on a regular basis
- Active and inclusive pedagogical practices Â
- Comprehensive understanding of current issues in art history, theory, and criticism Â
- Earned terminal degree (including M.F.A.)
Desired Qualifications:
- Strength in printmaking
- Exploration of interdisciplinary connections between mediums Â
- Expertise or interest in one or several of the following mediums: printmaking, clay, mixed media, contemporary drawing, book arts , medical illustration, arts administration
