Location: Service Headquarters, Maidstone – mixture of office and home working – 3 days per week in office (with travel countywide, based on needs)
Hours: Full time – 37 Hours per week
Base salary: £48,366 - £53,707 per annum depending on experience
Pension: Automatic membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme – career average pension scheme with 17.5% employer contribution
Holidays: In addition to entitlement to bank/ public holidays you will receive 31 days holiday

Being the Talent Manager
You will lead and manage the Talent function - Talent Management and Talent Acquisition. You will be the subject matter expert, using your expertise and experience to develop and implement talent strategies that align with Kent Fire & Rescue strategic objectives.
You will promote a culture of internal talent development, progression and succession whilst overseeing an efficient talent acquisition function attracting and recruiting externally. You will have line management responsibilities for 3 x Direct reports, budget management and monitoring of third party resources.
What you’ll do
- Advise on effective talent management methods and the importance of developing and progressing talent from within KFRS
- Lead and oversee internal mobility through facilitating talent review practices to support promotions and internal appointments.
- Lead, advise, implement and facilitate Talent Management practices
- Lead and oversee volume recruitment – recruitment campaigns, managing assessment centres, supporting interviews and coaching managers.
- Lead and oversee both corporate and Fire Fighter recruitment – guide and advise on effective recruitment and selection methods, importance of positive candidate experience, EVP, agency management where needed and ROI.
- Advanced knowledge of Talent Management practices
- Excellent knowledge of Talant Acquisition principles, high volume, deadline driven requests and large-scale recruitment programmes
- Excellent communication skills – an understanding of how to engage with key stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes, including influencing/coaching skills and ability to develop managers.
- Be creative and flexible in both problem solving and decision making to ensure that solutions are person centred, whilst meeting business needs.
- Formal qualification in HR Management (CIPD Level 5 or above)
- Formal qualification in administration and interpretation of psychometric and ability tests, is desirable.
