We are committed to recruiting, retaining, and developing a workforce that reflects the communities we serve. Sharing your equality monitoring data allows us to assess the impact our recruitment and employment policies and practices have and gives us the opportunity to improve them where possible. Equality monitoring information is not accessible by recruiting managers at any stage.
Specifically, you will contribute to the preparation of inspection programmes and undertake General and reactive inspections of county road bridges, culverts, highway retaining structures and Geotechnical Assets in accordance with National Technical Standards and according to Council objectives.

Applicants should be qualified to HNC or equivalent in a Civil Engineering related discipline or have demonstrable and relevant alternative experience. You will have good computer skills with a good working knowledge and experience in information technology including Microsoft Office.
Experience in the maintenance of highways structures is essential along with the ability to work in a busy environment and take responsibility for planning and delivering allocated technical tasks and workload. You will have a good working knowledge of health and safety legislation, CDM Regulations 2015, and legislation in relation to Highways and Structures Asset management.
The postholder will predominantly work remotely from the designated place of work and travel to highway locations across the County.
