Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients in a care home or home care setting, ensuring their comfort and well-being. This role requires effective communication skills, the ability to follow care plans, and a commitment to delivering high-quality care. A valid driving licence is preferred for those assisting with patient transport.
Duties

• Assist patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility.
• Support the implementation of individual care plans tailored to each patient's needs.
• Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes in patients' conditions to the healthcare team.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to patients, fostering a positive environment.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the care setting, ensuring a safe environment for all residents.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
• Drive patients to appointments or activities as required (if applicable).

Skills

• Proficient in IT skills for maintaining patient records and documentation.
• Strong understanding of care plans and the ability to implement them effectively.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
• Experience in a care home or home care setting is advantageous but not essential.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being capable of working independently.
• Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others are crucial for success in this role.
