Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Environmental Health and Safety Officer to join our team, reporting to our Chief Operating Officer.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, promoting a safe working environment, and fostering a culture of safety within the organisation. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organisation.

Pay: Up to £70,000.00 per year

This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organisation.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies and procedures in accordance with legal requirements.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on health and safety practices, including first aid procedures.
- Investigate incidents and accidents to determine root causes, documenting findings and recommending improvements.
- Prepare detailed reports on health and safety performance, compliance issues, and incident investigations.
- Collaborate with management to promote a proactive approach to health and safety within the workplace.
- Stay updated on relevant legislation, industry trends, and best practices in environmental health and safety.
- Proven experience in a similar role within a 24 x 7 FMCG business is required
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations, risk assessment methodologies, and accident investigation techniques.
- Excellent report writing skills with the ability to present complex information clearly.
- Experience in conducting training sessions or workshops on health and safety topics is advantageous.
- Certification in first aid is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with root cause analysis techniques will be beneficial for this role.
- NEBOSH Diploma (or similar qualification)
- Chartered membership of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) (CMIOSH) would be desirable
