HEAD BARISTA
£12 - £12.50 - Full-time
The Flour Pot is a family owned independent business with eleven stores across Brighton, Hove and Worthing, specialising in artisan bread, baked goods and speciality coffee.
We are currently recruiting an experienced Head Barista to work in our store in Sydney Street (Brighton North Laine). As the Head Barista, you will lead by example, setting the standard for excellent coffee-making, customer service, and team collaboration. You'll manage daily operations of the coffee bar, train and mentor staff, and ensure that each drink served is a reflection of our commitment to quality. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead by Example: Prepare and serve high-quality coffee beverages, including espresso drinks, filter, cold brew, and more, with precision and flair.
• Staff Management: Supervise, train, and motivate a team of baristas to deliver excellent service. Foster a positive, collaborative work environment.
• Customer Service: Engage with customers, ensure their needs are met, and create a warm, friendly atmosphere. Handle customer complaints or concerns professionally and with a solution-oriented approach.
• Operational Efficiency: Manage the flow of the coffee bar, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standards. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the workspace.
• Inventory and Ordering: Track inventory of coffee beans, syrups, milk, and other supplies, placing orders as needed. Keeping the store well-stocked and ready for busy shifts.
• Quality Control: Maintain high standards of coffee quality, ensuring consistency and excellence in every cup.
• Training and Development: Provide ongoing training for new and existing baristas, helping them to refine their skills and knowledge of coffee.
• Collaboration with the Flour Pot estate and The Milk Shed: Work closely with the rest of the Head Baristas and with our internal coffee supplier, The Milk Shed

The role is based on a 5 day week (Monday - Sunday). Typical shifts are either 7am - 3pm or 9am - 6pm.
