Exciting opportunity for experienced metal fabricators with CSCS card required to join a new Hailsham workshop. We are an established design-led architectural metal practice that has been based in North London for over 12 years but are now relocating to East Sussex.
Looking for a hard working, enthusiastic team members with a desire to apply and develop their skills working on high-end bespoke contemporary staircases and other fine architectural metalwork such as balustrades, gates, bird hides and bespoke furniture.
In the 12 years we have been in business we have developed an exciting portfolio of work with clients including The National Gallery, multiple London Boroughs, Trinity Theatre (Tunbridge Wells), as well as numerous private clients and we have also been featured on Grand Designs.
What the Job Entails
You will primarly be based in the workshop in Hailsham, but the role also includes on-site fitting work in and around the South East including London.
Driving license and willingness to drive vans preferable.
About you

• Should be a competent welder/fabricator and have a minimum of 3 years experience working with mild steel (stainless steel and aluminium also advantageous) both in the workshop and on-site.
• Attention to detail and ability to consistently produce high quality work to a high degree of precision is essential.
• Able to read fabrication/architect/structural engineers drawings and have good communication skills.
• Operate hand and power tools to fabricate and weld metal components according to specifications.
• Ability to work unsupervised as well as in a team environment.
• Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines while adhering to safety standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following all safety protocols.
• Conduct routine maintenance on welding equipment and tools to ensure optimal performance.
• Must have positive attitude and good work ethic and ability to work independently.
• Reasonable level of English required.

Requirements/skills

• MIG and TIG welding
• Sheet Metal fabrication
• Metal bending
• Good knowledge of metalwork processes and techniques including welding, assembling, finishing, installing
• Mild steel essential, stainless and aluminium advantageous
• Skills in metal finishes/polishing and ability to spray lacquer /waxing/ blackening/ clear coats advantageous
• Must be able to read and produce from drawings
• Good eye for detail
• CSCS Card
• Fully UK driving license

Hours
40 hours a week, Monday to Friday, usually 8am-5pm but start time may vary according to site requirements when installing. Occasional overtime may be available.
Salary
Hourly rate negotiable depending on skills and experience (£16-19 / hour).
