Child Contact Supervisor

We envisage a child to find shalom-wellness whose parents have separated or divorced. Our prime focus is on the child. We believe the child needs assurances of love and acceptance from both parents in addition to a growing awareness that the separation/divorce was not caused by them. We are aware that both the child and the non-resident parent need time to be together in a safe space.
We are intentional in creating a welcoming and safe environment for the healing of relational trauma, particularly for the child.
Our means for actualising this is through our qualified team members and our offer of safe, accessible spaces for contact to be facilitated.
Overall, Purpose of the Job:
1. To assist the Centre Manager to organise, supervise, record and assess child contact with an awareness of safeguarding the child
2. To implement the principles of Prime Time’s Equal Opportunities Policy in every aspect of your work and positively promote the principles of the policy amongst colleagues, service users and other members of the community.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
1. To schedule supervision of children’s contact with parents, family, friends and carers working with court orders and referring agencies contact decisions.
2. To provide concise, relevant and accurate recording of contact sessions and discussions with other professional agencies in line with internal policies and procedures.
4. To ensure that client confidentiality is maintained in accordance with procedures at all times.
6. To ensure that the service is operating within anti- discriminatory practice by providing a culturally appropriate service.
8. To comply with Family Action’s Health and Safety Policy, Data Protection Policy and to protect the health, safety and welfare of yourself and others.
10.To organise, prioritise and manage workload under your own initiative.
11.To undertake all other duties/ responsibilities (as may reasonably be required within) that may arise within the overall job role.

Qualifications and Experience:
Knowledge and Skills
1. Ability to demonstrate a good understanding of the impact of race, culture and religion has on families and children (E)
2. Good understanding of safeguarding procedures and processes. (D)
3. Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people (E)
4. An understanding of parental and carer conflict following family breakdown (D)
5. Ability to support families with signposting to appropriate agencies. (D)
6. Ability to work directly with traumatised children in a sensitive and supportive manner. (E)
9. Excellent time management and organisational skills. (E)
Personal Qualities
1. A commitment to the welfare of the child as a priority in the work and decision making. (E)
2. Ability to work alone and as part of a team (E)
3. Ability to work flexibly in accordance to the needs of the role. (E)
4. Must live in the Southwark, Lambeth, Lewisham areas only (E)
Please note that DBS proof is required for this role.
Job Type: Zero hours contract
Pay: £25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 2 per week
