Agency Chef

CONTRACT

At Stocks Hall Agency Services we are looking for a head chef who are passionate about healthy home cooked traditional meals for those who live with us at our nursing home.
You will be working with our committed kitchen team, providing three hearty meals a day including treats like afternoon tea and cake for all our residents with all dietary requirements, ensuring everyone is treated with dignity and respect. Person centred care is at the core of what we do, allowing those we care for to flourish and our staff to feel immense satisfaction in their everyday duties.
We are looking for a chef to fill in for our other chefs in our 5 local care home sites in the West Lancs area: Skelmersdale, Ormskirk, Mawdesley, St Helens or Burscough, to cover staff holidays and sickness. You must be able to reliably commute to these areas and there is free on-site parking. Usual working hours are 7:30am – 5:30pm with weekends shared between the head and second chef.
Agency positions are great for those needing flexible work. You give us your availability and we work around your commitments (although at least one shift a month will need to be completed to stay on our system). However, commuting to our homes is your responsibility, so drivers are highly desired.
We pride ourselves in using fresh and locally sourced produce with all meals cooked from scratch.
We provide full paid training (both online and classroom based), we ask that you have a genuine passion for cooking for others, communicate well with your team and residents and most important of all have a good sense of humour!
