Position Purpose / Objective
This role is integral to ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance across our supply chain. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for managing supplier performance, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring supplier compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. You will work closely with internal teams, including Procurement, Engineering, as well as external suppliers, to foster quality-driven relationships and ensure the delivery of top-tier products to our customers.
Duties and Responsibilities
Supplier Development & Compliance:

• Establish and enforce supplier quality system requirements, ensuring compliance with applicable standards (e.g., ISO, etc.) for both materials and services.
• Support the administration of outsourced supplier auditing programs, certifications, and qualifications.
• Champion supplier compliance to relevant quality, safety, and regulatory standards, including automotive industry-specific regulations.

Risk Management & Quality Planning:

• Manage and assess supplier-related risks, including material security, quality, product safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Lead and execute risk assessments and hazard documentation in the context of material/product risk management.
• Develop robust quality plans in collaboration with suppliers and internal technical teams to ensure reliable capability and minimize costs while preventing quality issues.

Supplier Performance Management:

• Monitor, report, and analyse supplier performance metrics, driving corrective actions where necessary.
• Work with suppliers to investigate non-conformities and oversee the implementation of corrective and preventive actions, ensuring sustainable improvement.
• Conduct regular supplier audits, including process audits and gap analysis, to ensure ongoing compliance and to drive quality improvement.

Root Cause Analysis & Continuous Improvement:

• Champion the nonconformance management process, focusing on true root cause analysis and ensuring effective verification of CAPA actions executed by suppliers.
• Utilize data analysis tools and techniques to identify areas for improvement within the supply chain and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
• Implement quality management tools to enhance supplier quality assurance processes and reduce the likelihood of quality failures at the plant or customer sites.
• Collaboration & Communication:
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Purchasing, Engineering, and Technical Support, to align on quality goals and ensure quality standards are met throughout the supply chain.

Training & Development:

• Support the development and implementation of training materials and quality systems to enhance supplier capabilities.

Audits & Certifications:

• Oversee 3rd party testing programs and manage the certification processes for suppliers, ensuring they meet all regulatory and quality standards.
• Drive supplier development activities through effective audit and certification processes, with emphasis on technical compliance and product safety.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical field.
• Certifications such as ISO 9001 Lead Auditor is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Supplier Quality Assurance, Supplier Development, or a related field, preferably in manufacturing industries.
• Proven experience in managing supplier performance, conducting supplier audits, and leading corrective action initiatives.
• Hands-on experience with quality management tools and methodologies (e.g., ISO, etc.).
• Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks (e.g., ISO 9001 and industry-specific standards.
• Experience with supplier risk management and nonconformance management processes.
• Strong understanding of heavy manufacturing industry
• Ability to travel locally and internationally as required.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct root cause analysis and drive corrective actions.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, capable of effectively engaging with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and senior management.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Demonstrable experience of working with external suppliers to drive quality improvements and resolve issues.
