Job description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Quality Manager to join our team for an exciting windfarm project located at our HQ in Montague Gardens. This role requires a candidate who is ready to manage the quality aspects of a large-scale renewable energy project.
Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement Quality Control Plans (QCP), Quality Dossiers (DO), Quality Testing & Inspection Plans (QTIP), and Method Statements (MS).
• Oversee quality assurance for installation, ensuring compliance with SANS, ISO, SABS, and IEC standards.
• Conduct and manage factory inspections, regular site inspections, and testing and commissioning activities.
• Ensure accurate and complete documentation in line with project timelines and standards.
• Supervise and develop the quality team, ensuring optimal productivity and adherence to quality standards.
• Maintain regular communication with Project and Construction Managers, providing updates and addressing technical issues.
• Identify and implement lessons learned to improve quality management systems and processes.
• Providing support and training for site-based quality teams

Qualifications and Skills:

• Extensive experience in quality management, particularly in large-scale construction projects.
• Strong understanding of quality assurance and control processes.
• Proven ability to manage teams and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Familiarity with project management tools and techniques.
• Flexibility to work non-standard hours and adapt to project needs.
• Competence in managing documentation and systems to maintain traceability, ensuring alignment with local regulations and project specifications.
• Proven record of managing quality teams on-site, ensuring adherence to quality management processes across multidisciplinary teams.
• Industry Related Degree (Required)

Industry-Specific Experience:

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in quality management within the electrical construction industry, with a focus on large-scale projects.
• Prior involvement in renewable energy projects (specifically windfarms) is highly advantageous.
• Comprehensive understanding of quality standards, regulations, and practices applicable to the South African construction and electrical industry.
• Demonstrated experience in preparing and managing Quality Control Plans, Method Statements, Quality Testing & Inspection Plans.
• Familiarity with HSE regulations related to Construction and Electrical Sector.

Professional Registration:

• ECSA (Engineering Council of South Africa) – Registration as a Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) or Professional Engineering Technician (Pr Techni Eng) (Advantageous)
• ISO Certification Bodies – Certification in ISO 9001 (Lead Auditor or Quality Manager certification). Required
• SACPCMP Registration (The South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions ) is required (Advantageous)
• Or any other quality related qualification.
