Junior Sales Representative

The Junior Sales Representative plays a pivotal role in our organization by actively contributing to the sales process. Their primary objective is to support the Regional Sales Manager in achieving sales targets and expanding our customer base in the construction and mining sectors. This role requires a proactive individual with strong communication skills and a keen interest in the mining, quarry, and material handling equipment industry.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Drive Sales Growth:
- Prospecting for new business, generating leads and opportunities by cold calling potential clients.
- Develop relationships with clients to drive repeat sales.
- Master the art of getting leads and implement a lead generation strategy.
- Understand and execute the sales process specific to our company.
- Executing on sales coverage plan.
- Prepare and submit essential documents on time, including equipment proposals, customer quotations, and change orders.
- Maintain a consistent and error-free record of proposals.
- Familiarize yourself with our equipment specifications, features, and applications.
- Inspect, scope, photograph, and estimate equipment needs accurately.
- Ensure acceptable profit margins on equipment sales.
- Attend trade shows and industry events as required.
- Network with potential clients, associates, and industry professionals in these sectors.
- Establish new relationships within the various industries and communities.
- Resolve customer inquiries and complaints promptly.
- Set follow-up appointments to keep clients informed of the latest developments.
- Follow up on outstanding Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and equipment quotations with clients.
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports on sales activities and progress in the construction and mining segments.
- Analyze sales data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Ensuring compliance to QMS standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent (Sales and Marketing qualification advantageous).
- 2-3 year’s prior experience in sales or customers service preferred.
- Familiarity with construction and mining and material handling industry practices and terminology is advantageous.
- Passion for sales and providing solutions.
- Confident, Self-motivated, results-driven, and adaptable.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Professional demeanor and strong work ethic.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to details and goal-oriented mindset.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, emails, etc.).
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Willingness to travel withing the assigned territory.
