What we’re looking for

Orange Romania’s Infrastructure Core team is looking for a colleague to coordinating and planning the design & implementation activities of IT and Network equipment in the Orange Romania data centers, acting as a project manager for implementing various solutions to host both internal and external clients in the data centers.

What you’ll be doing

Main responsibilities:

• Engineering and design for IT equipment installation in Data Centers
• Design the installation of new IT equipment based on the constraints and specifics of the rooms/technical spaces in a data center location (initial design, available space, required power, UPS capacity, cooling system capacity, future developments, etc.).
• Design and engineer the interconnection of IT equipment (Copper, FO, connection in patch panels, etc.).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Project Managers, Civil Work Experts, HVAC Experts, Energy Experts, DSI & GE Experts, Data Centers Operational Experts, etc.) to develop plans and technical solutions necessary for accommodating new IT/Network equipment in the technical spaces/rooms of existing data centers or for extending existing data centers.
• Act transversally within the company to discuss with internal clients of Data Centers from all IT teams, Core Network, B2B, etc.
• Harmonize the Group's strategy with the local one regarding Data Center management policies and also the implementation of the best design guidelines in this field.
• Manage and control vendors, participate with procurement teams in vendor selection.
• Ensure the efficient implementation of installation solutions, optimizing the existing infrastructure in accordance with Orange Romania standards and procedures.
• Participate in construction, upgrade, reconfiguration, or consolidation projects of data centers, ensuring compliance with agreed timelines, budgets, and technical specifications. Identify and implement measures to optimize energy efficiency, space utilization, and other resources within data centers.
• Participate in reconfiguration projects (downsizing/expansion/leveling, etc.) of technical rooms/spaces, as well as existing buildings.
• Implement electrical energy metering systems for existing and newly installed equipment. Monitor their operation and ensure remediation and leveling if necessary.
• Verify the accuracy of the energy consumption billing process (its concordance with previous consumptions, installed power, meter settings, etc.).
• Develop/update procedures/technical specifications.
• Place orders and validate the bills of quantities related to installation works.
• Create and update the database regarding the positions in the room of new equipment, power cabinets, and installed/decommissioned meters, etc.
• Optimizing energy and efficiency
• Create, update, and follow up on the budget related to the installation works they manage.
• Provide internal and external reports, including ESG and taxonomy reporting.

What you need to know/have

• Previous experience in engineering and design for IT equipment installation in Data Centers, with a solid understanding of Data Centers specificity;
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills;
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously;
• Previous experience in managing complex teams and projects;
• Experience with power, cooling and airflow management
• Technical University studies (Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technology or Faculty of Automatic Control and Computers or Faculty of Electrical Engineering.);
• ANRE Certified Energetic Manager is a plus
• Minimum 5 years of experience in construction, expansion, and consolidation projects for Data Centers;
• Project Management Certification is a plus;
• Uptime Institute certification is a plus (Design and Operational)
• Auto CAD knowledge
• Advanced MS Excel skills.
• English – advanced
• Driving license B category.
