Your Role & Responsibility
- Provide expert advice on securing financial technology systems, applications, APIs, and databases, ensuring compliance with industry standards such as PCI DSS, ISO 27001 and local regulatory requirements.
- Architect solutions in accordance with security frameworks and policies to protect sensitive data.
- Collaborate with Engineering teams to integrate security best practices in the Software.
- Development Lifecycle (SDLC), promoting secure code development and automated security testing.
- Perform security audits and review penetration tests, presenting actionable reports to leadership and relevant teams.
- Monitor and analyse security alerts and threat intelligence to proactively identify and mitigate security risks.
- Lead security risk assessments and assist with vulnerability management and incident response activities across cloud and on-premise environments.
- Assist investigations into security incidents, perform root cause analysis, and recommend measures for improvement.
- Stay updated on the latest security trends, tools, and regulatory changes affecting the Fin Tech industry.
- Mentor junior security team members and guide cross-functional teams on all matters related to information security.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity roles, with a focus on financial or Fin Tech environments.
- Strong knowledge of security principles, standards, and frameworks (e.g., NIST CSF, ISO 27001, OWASP, GDPR, PCI DSS).
- Broad experience across all security domains.
- Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, or GCP), microservices architecture, and securing API environments.
- Proficiency in risk assessment and threat modelling.
- Relevant certifications such as SANS or similar are highly desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex security challenges into actionable solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Team-player mindset.
- Excellent communication skills and experience in multicultural environments, to work smoothly with the team and customers from different countries in MENA and the European regions.
- Fluent English is a must.
- Experience with compliance audits related to PCI DSS, GDPR, or other financial regulations.
- Familiarity with Dev Sec Ops practices, automation tools, and secure development pipelines.
- Experience in leading security teams or projects in multicultural, cross-functional settings.
- Proficiency in Arabic or experience in the Middle East financial market is a plus.
