Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical billing and coding, ensuring accurate and timely processing of medical claims.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10, ICD-9, and CPT coding to accurately process claims
- Review and verify patient insurance information
- Submit electronic and paper claims to insurance companies
- Follow up on unpaid claims and denials
- Maintain patient billing records
- Handle patient inquiries regarding billing issues
- Collaborate with medical staff to clarify diagnosis or procedures for accurate billing
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in medical billing or related field
- Proficiency in medical office systems and software
- Strong understanding of medical coding principles
- Knowledge of medical collections processes
- Familiarity with electronic medical records systems
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication skills for interacting with patients and insurance companies
