Job Summary
As a Civil Engineer at Okume Resources Ltd , you will play a key role in planning, designing, and overseeing various civil engineering projects, from concept through to completion. You will work closely with project teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure that all projects meet the highest quality standards, are cost-effective, and adhere to safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and oversee the construction of infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, buildings, water supply systems, and other civil structures.
• Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to determine the best approach to engineering challenges.
• Prepare detailed designs, specifications, and construction drawings while ensuring compliance with applicable engineering codes and standards.
• Estimate project costs, timelines, and resources required to achieve project objectives.
• Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless project execution.
• Ensure that all projects adhere to environmental regulations, safety standards, and sustainable engineering practices.
• Manage project documentation, including reports, schedules, and budget records, and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
• Oversee and inspect project sites to ensure construction is aligned with design specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Identify and resolve any technical issues or discrepancies on-site.
• Perform risk assessments and enforce health and safety policies and regulations on all project sites.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in civil engineering, with proven experience in infrastructure projects, design, and construction management.
• Professional Certification: Registered member of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) is mandatory.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of civil engineering software (Auto CAD, Civil 3D, STAAD Pro, etc.) and MS Office Suite.
• Project Management Skills: Experience managing project timelines, budgets, and resources efficiently.
• Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze complex problems, develop solutions, and make sound engineering judgments.
• Attention to Detail: Keen eye for design accuracy, technical quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to liaise effectively with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
• Adaptability and Flexibility: Ability to work effectively in dynamic environments and handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
• Physical Stamina: Willingness to spend extended periods on construction sites as required.
