Network Security Engineer – Zero Trust Specialist: The Hague, Netherlands (Hybrid)

We are looking for a skilled Network Security Engineer to lead the digital transformation towards a Zero Trust Strategy. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience implementing Zero Trust solutions across various platforms, contributing to the company’s security infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Configure and manage enterprise-wide WAF (Web Application Firewall) solutions.
Deploy and configure Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) platforms in on-premises and cloud environments.
Develop network security strategies aligned with ZTNA principles and best practices.
Define and enforce access control policies based on user identity, device posture, and context.
Integrate ZTNA with security technologies like ICAM (Identity, Credentialing and Access Management), MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication), and endpoint security solutions.
Perform regular network vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to strengthen ZTNA controls.
Manage micro-segmentation solutions and ensure integration with SIEM and SOAR.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Investigate complex security cases and collaborate with senior Security Management Specialists to resolve them.
Support operational teams in maintaining security infrastructure such as intrusion detection, remote access security, email and web security, anti-malware, and WAF.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
5+ years of experience in network security, with a strong focus on network security engineering.
Extensive knowledge of TCP/IP, network protocols, routing, firewalls, and network security technologies.
Hands-on experience with DLP solutions, WAF, OWASP Top 10, SASE, CASB, ZTNA, SWG, and micro-segmentation.
Familiarity with ICAM, MFA, endpoint security, and SIEM solutions.
Strong skills in conducting security assessments, risk analysis, and developing security concepts.
Experience with distributed teams and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCNP Security, or GIAC are highly desirable.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in Zero Trust implementation across diverse platforms and environments.
Proven experience in configuring, deploying, and managing WAF solutions.
Demonstrated expertise in micro-segmentation, ensuring proper integration with security tools like SIEM and SOAR.
Solid track record of developing and implementing network security strategies and performing risk assessments.
Experience working with cross-functional teams in enterprise environments, particularly in security operations and infrastructure support.
