What you'll be doing
You’ll be the first security specialist within our existing technology team of 20+ people and offer security guidance to them when building new products or features. This can be in the form of design reviews, audits, tests or by analyzing our applications yourself.

Identify (potential) security vulnerabilities or design flaws in the areas of cloud security, infrastructure, data, applications or payments by thinking like an attacker and defender.

Help the compliance department to make sure we adhere to all regulatory requirements that concern IT security. Help with performing external audits and focusing on rectifying the issues highlighted in reports.

Introduce new solutions that improve our security posture and help with implementation, either by working with a vendor, our own engineering team, or the infrastructure team, or by developing solutions yourself.
Technology
We have a technology neutral mindset to engineering and believe in well-tested, robust code. We love open source but are not religious about any specific language or framework. We work with modern open source technology such as Ruby on Rails, React, Postgre SQL, Docker and AWS. We’re big on continuous integration and deployment, automated testing and kanban, pull-based processes. We push changes to production every single day.

Requirements

Experience in being hands-on in the security domain, not just talking, but doing

Experience and security expertise working with AWS

Knowledge in network security and secure engineering processes

Experience assessing vulnerabilities and implementing solutions

Worked with security tools that are commonly used for managing security in an organization

Understanding of encryption algorithms and different implementations
