The Commercial Director will lead the company’s transition to an IT-driven business model, driving a refined go-to-market strategy that aligns with a broad and evolving product portfolio while minimising channel conflicts. This role requires a leader who is a strong team player and skilled at uniting stakeholders with diverse perspectives, promoting collaboration, and creating alignment. The Commercial Director will enhance focus within the product and solutions offering, foster a customer-centric sales culture, and contribute to the successful integration of acquired businesses.
What you will be doing
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Guide the company’s shift from traditional printing to IT solutions, aligning sales strategies with this transformation
- Support the change of the current business model into a IT services-led model
- Collaborate with executive leadership to establish revenue goals and set strategic priorities that support the company’s transition
- Build and implement a refined sales strategy, balancing priorities across a broad portfolio to capture high-impact market opportunities
- Develop a go-to-market approach that strengthens both direct and indirect sales channels, minimising conflicts and supporting the company’s diverse offerings
- Work with marketing and product and solutions teams to ensure the go-to-market strategy aligns with customer needs, creating strong, lasting relationships
- Identify and prioritise opportunities within the product and solutions portfolio, focusing on offerings that align with market demands and yield the greatest value
- Build a unified sales culture that emphasizes teamwork and is capable of aligning diverse interests within the company and its channels
- Monitor and optimise sales metrics and KPIs to support continuous improvement and drive revenue growth
- Lead a sales team of 40 account managers, sales management, partner management, bid management and pre-sales consultants, fostering collaboration, alignment, and high performance
- Create a strong executive network with our top clients and potential new clients
- Leverage experience in customer-intimate organisations to build and sustain strong relationships, ensuring high customer satisfaction
- Shape a customer-centric sales approach, providing a seamless experience across both printing and IT products.
- Support the integration of acquired businesses, ensuring they align with the company’s strategy and add value to customers
- Strengthen channel partnerships that support IT solutions, balancing the needs of both direct and indirect channels
- Drive initiatives to expand partnerships while maintaining alignment with the company’s strategic objectives
You will ideally have
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field
- 10+ years of senior sales leadership experience, ideally in both traditional and IT sales environments
- Proven track record in guiding sales transformations, with experience in go-to-market strategy, channel management, and minimizing channel conflicts
- Experience in integrating two companies, including aligning teams, processes, and cultures
- Fluency in Dutch and English
- Background in a customer-intimate organization, with a focus on building strong, value-driven customer relationships.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to unite teams across departments and diverse interests
- Strategic vision to refine a broad portfolio for focus and impact
- Proficiency in digital tools, CRM systems, and performance analytics
- Strong people leadership, able to foster a team-oriented culture and high-performance mindset
- Customer-centric approach, focused on delivering value and building trust with clients
