Position Overview:
As an Embedded Systems Engineer at QE-Labs, you will be an integral part of our software engineering division. Reporting directly to our Chief Technology Officer (CTO), you will play a pivotal role in developing and deploying our next-generation products, focusing on embedded hardware and software systems that drive our cutting-edge drone technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
· Develop a deep understanding of the existing QE-Labs software suite to effectively contribute to ongoing projects.
· Assist in transitioning current drone and payload software systems to future-generation platforms, ensuring seamless compatibility across diverse hardware and software environments.
· Program microcontrollers to communicate with and control a variety of hardware components, enhancing the functionality and efficiency of our drone systems.
· Collaborate closely with the hardware team to integrate software solutions with embedded systems, driving innovation and improving system performance.
· Engage with end users to gather feedback and incorporate insights into future technology directions and deliverables.
· Lead flight tests and meticulously document test results for new payload and drone systems, ensuring high standards of quality and reliability.
· Participate in the development and implementation of other embedded projects as necessary, contributing to the continuous enhancement of our technology stack.
Requirements:
· A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
· A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
· Proficiency in C and C++ programming languages for embedded systems.
· Experience with STM32 microcontrollers and familiarity with STM32 HAL/CMSIS libraries.
· Hands-on experience with embedded systems development tools such as STM32Cube IDE, Keil MDK, or IAR Embedded Workbench.
· Strong understanding of microcontroller peripherals and communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, CAN).
· Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) such as Free RTOS is a plus.
· Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
· Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
· A continuous desire to learn and adapt to new technologies.
