What is the role?
As part of Aerogen, a global leader in aerosol drug delivery and nebuliser technology, the Technician will support electromechanical and metallurgical product and process activities in a regulated medical device environment. The role focuses on materials measurement and analysis using equipment such as X-ray Diffraction (XRD), X-ray Fluorescence (XRF), and hardness testers. The Technician will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of development activities while helping maintain the Development Lab as a center of excellence.
What are the key responsibilities?
- Prepare samples for development tests and materials measurement activities, utilizing tools like X-ray Diffraction (XRD), X-ray Fluorescence (XRF), and hardness testers.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment to perform precise measurements and material characterisation to support Aerogens innovative nebuliser technology development.
- Document test results thoroughly in lab books, excel sheets, reports, or designated documentation systems.
- Assist in validating test methods and processes under supervision to meet product development goals.
- Support the introduction and setup of new laboratory equipment, including calibration and basic safety assessments.
- Provide technical assistance to engineering and development teams in both project-specific and general activities.
- Participate in team meetings and report progress on assigned tasks and deliverables to the relevant stakeholders.
- Adhere to Aerogens quality standards, company policies, and safety protocols to maintain a high-performance working environment.
- Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
What education and experience are required?
- NFQ Level 6 Qualification or Trade Qualified
- At least 23 years of relevant experience, ideally within the medical device or laboratory setting.

- Basic knowledge of materials measurement techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and technical accuracy in completing tasks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office for data recording and reporting purposes.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A willingness to learn and expand technical skills to support Aerogens innovative product development efforts.
