Part-time Assistant Operation Officer (Central Compliance) (EDB/EI/348/24)
Salary:
$247 per hour (Required to work 14 hours per week)
Entry Requirements:
(a) Possess at least 5 years of experience in law enforcement departments (e.g. the Hong Kong Police Force, Independent Commission Against Corruption, Customs and Excise Department or Immigration Department) and be at the rank of Police Sergeant rank or above, or equivalent;
(b) Possess experience in law enforcement work; and
(c) Met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 [See Note (i)] or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent; and be able to speak Cantonese and English.
Note:
(i) For appointment purpose, 'Grade E' in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to 'Level 2' in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.
(ii) Candidates should mark clearly their full employment record to date, and list out the duration of each position held on their application forms.

Duties:
(a) To conduct inspection visits to the suspected unregistered school premises, and to prepare investigation reports;
(b) To serve as the Operation Commander or assistant to the Operation Commander in operational visits, as the case may be;
(c) To collect evidence including taking statements from witnesses and suspects;
(d) To take follow up action and liaise with other government departments/authorities if necessary after operational visits;
(e) To testify in court if a prosecution is mounted;
(f) To work outside normal office hours; and
(g) Other related duties assigned by the senior officers.
Terms of Appointment:
Successful candidates will be employed on non-civil service contract terms for 1 year.
