The Role
As an Atlas Copco Purchaser, you are responsible for the supplier management of a specific set of commodities.
You’ll optimize the supply chain considering the 6 pillars of purchasing: total cost, quality, logistics, products and process development, contracting and sustainability.

• You'll develop a solid purchasing strategy based on the divisional targets (customer satisfaction, margin expansion and business growth) by participating in (re)design projects.
• You'll initiate price requests and evaluating suppliers on commercial, technical and logistical level, all whilst respecting legal and regulatory aspects.
• You'll communicate relevant information to your team members and support them in their project, budget and planning.
• You'll collaborate with team members like Marketing and Engineering on technology roadmaps for the commodities you are responsible for. The essence of your function is to use excellent communicative skills to support interactions with both external and company partners.
• You'll lead the negotiations of supply agreements and systematically investigate purchasing synergies within your own department, the division and with colleagues from other product companies.
• You'll initiate and bring into completion savings and availability projects by conducting market research and benchmarks; consider total cost, value creation and possible risks.
• You'll align with the SQA Engineers on the quality performance evaluation of your suppliers and the related improvement actions.
• You'll coordinate, with the Logistical and Production department, the evaluation of the logistical performance of your suppliers and support possible improvement actions. You are involved in the actions to safeguard the deliveries to customers.

You'll report to the Team Leader Purchasing.
This is a hybrid position, with the main location onsite in Antwerp, Belgium. "#LI-Hybrid"

What we expect of you?

• A master degree in business or engineering
• An interest in commercial negotiations and industrial supply chain
• Fluency in English, any other language is welcome
• Experience in SQL, Power Bi is considered an extra asset
