Vacancy: IT & Data Engineer
(Cloud/Dev Ops focus)
Rejuvenate Biomed is a clinical-stage biotechnology company based in Diepenbeek, Belgium. We are committed to discovering and developing therapeutics to delay the onset of age-related diseases. We are seeking a versatile and driven IT & data engineer for a full-time, permanent position to join our team and expand our cloud-based data operations.
As an IT and Data engineer, you bring a strong IT engineering background combined with a passion for full-stack development involved in cloud-based data engineering. You are interested in the full lifecycle of data management, including managing the cloud-based infrastructure, end-to-end data pipeline management, data security, and integrating various services.
You will primarily work within the ICT team but will also collaborate closely with our team of computational biologists and AI scientists.
Your Responsibilities

• Set up, configure, and maintain databases (Postgre SQL)
• Maintain virtual private cloud (VPC) environments, ensuring proper networking configurations and security.
• Provide guidance and support to the wider team on implementing IT best practices.
• Write clean, efficient, and reusable code adhering to best practices.
• Perform data wrangling and processing tasks, primarily using Python, SQL, R, and SAS.
• Implement and manage serverless integrations between applications via APIs.
• Deploy and manage applications in a cloud environment (AWS, containers, Kubernetes).
• Develop and maintain software applications using Python and other technologies.
• Participate in code reviews and collaborate with team members on continuous integration (CI) and continuous deployment (CD) pipelines.

Your profile

• Strong knowledge of API integration and RESTful services.
• Hands-on experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Proven experience managing cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
• Experience with infrastructure as code (Ia C) tools like Terraform
• Basic knowledge of networking principles, particularly in a cloud environment (VPC setup, subnets, routing).
• Proven experience with Python for data manipulation and software development.
• Familiarity with data wrangling tools and libraries (e.g., pandas, numpy) in Python. SAS and R programming experience is a plus.
• Experience in setting up and managing databases such as Postgre SQL.
• Proficiency in writing SQL queries.
• Knowledge of UML, including class diagrams.
• Comfortable working with CI/CD tools like Jenkins or Git Hub Actions.

Your Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with .NET for application development is considered a plus.
• Experience working in a regulated industry (such as pharmaceuticals).
• Knowledge of Agile or Scrum methodologies.
