Java Developer – Brussels, Belgium (Hybrid)
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Java Developer to join our team in Belgium under a hybrid work model. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Java frameworks, modern CI/CD tools, and a solid grasp of Agile methodologies. This role requires a hands-on approach to development and testing, alongside the ability to lead technical discussions and build innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities:

• Java Development:
• Design, develop, and maintain applications using Java 8+, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and other modern frameworks.
• Implement RESTful APIs, SOAP services, and backend systems.
• Testing and Quality Assurance:
• Perform unit testing, functional testing, and regression testing using tools like JUnit, Mockito, and Karma/Selenium.
• Ensure code quality through tools like Sonar Qube and Fortify.
• CI/CD Implementation:
• Manage CI/CD pipelines with tools like Jenkins, Maven, and Prometheus.
• Utilize TDD/BDD frameworks such as Cucumber for agile testing.
• Team Collaboration:
• Work closely with Product Owners, Chief Java Engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Lead technical discussions and provide mentorship to the development team.
• Agile Practices:
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and ensure adherence to Agile principles.
• Design and Architecture:
• Apply design patterns (e.g., Singleton, Factory, Adapter) to build scalable and maintainable applications.
• Develop frameworks and reusable components to enhance productivity.
• Integration Development:
• Build REST API integrations with systems such as KYCO and master data management repositories.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Core Technical Skills:
• Java Development: Proficient in Java 8, Spring Boot, Hibernate, REST, SOAP, JSP, Servlets, and EJB.
• Testing: Experience with JUnit, Mockito, Selenium, or equivalent frameworks.
• CI/CD: Hands-on experience with Jenkins, Maven, and tools like Sonar Qube.
• Database: Strong knowledge of RDBMS and SQL.
• Design Patterns: Familiarity with Singleton, Factory, Abstract Factory, and similar patterns.
• Agile Expertise: Solid experience in Agile development methodologies, including TDD/BDD.
• Soft Skills:
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Ability to interact with business stakeholders and challenge requirements effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Contributions to open-source projects or communities.
• Experience presenting white papers or technical documentation.
• Exposure to tools like ELK Stack, Prometheus, or other monitoring platforms.
