About the role
South West Healthcare's Portland Community Mental Health Service is seeking passionate and dedicated clinician to join our dynamic multidisciplinary team of clinical specialists. As we work together to achieve the best possible clinical outcomes.
Southwest Healthcare's Portland Adult Mental Health and Wellbeing Service is a specialist mental health service for adults aged between 18-65 years old experiencing major mental illness. We are a multidisciplinary and integrated mental health response team providing crisis assessment and intervention, as well as short- and long-term evidence based, recovery focused interventions for individuals with severe and/or enduring mental illness and their families within the broader Portland Community catchment area.
Working in a job share capacity with our Current Senior Clinician you will be responsible for assisting the Team Leader and Psychiatrist in leading and coordinating the multi-disciplinary team to provide high quality integrated mental health services.
The role requires you to use your clinical skills to provide:
- Evidence based assessment.
- Direct service provision to groups and individuals.
- Primary and Secondary Consultation to mental health and wellbeing sector partners
- Community Development and Education as appropriate to the role.
- Line management supervision, secondary consult to staff, overseeing site operations when Team Leader is unavailable or on leave.
- Part-time (40 hours per fortnight), Ongoing position

- Registered Psychiatric Nurse Grade 4, Occupational Therapist Grade 3, Social Worker Grade 3, Psychologist Grade 3

What you bring
The successful applicant will demonstrate excellent team building skills with experience in mental health clinical services an advantage.
Excellent written, communication and interpersonal skills and initiative with proven ability to work autonomously as well as an ability to work with limited direction, be self-motivated, and provide effective problem-solving and negotiation skills.
You're proactive, flexible, and resilient and happy to work autonomously, use your initiative, and have a high attention to detail.
Registered Nurse.
Registered nurse with registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a registered nurse, have at least 5 years' experience in the provision of mental health services and completed of either Post Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing or Masters of Mental Health Nursing (or other relevant Post Graduate Course) required; or completion of a specialist undergraduate Mental Health Nursing program
Occupational Therapist.
Occupational Therapist with a degree in Occupational Therapy and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency and at least 7 years' experience in the provision of mental health services
Social Worker.
Social Worker with a degree in Social Work & eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers, and at least 7 years' experience in the provision of mental health services
Psychologist.
Psychologist with registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a Psychologist and at least 5 years' experience in the provision of mental health services.
