The Role:
Due to continued growth, Cooper Grace Ward has an excellent opportunity for a driven and highly skilled Senior Lawyer to join our property, planning and environment team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in environmental law, with a particular focus on environmental offsets and carbon sequestration and land access agreements and arrangements.
Key Responsibilities:

• Drafting and negotiating environmental offsets and carbon sequestration agreements
• Collaborate with clients to develop strategies that align with environmental regulations and sustainability goals
• Stay abreast of legislative changes and industry trends
• Contribute to the firms expertise in environmental law

About you:
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, experience, and attributes:

• 5+ years’ experience in a similar role
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of environmental obligations supporting major development projects such as mining, large scale development and infrastructure projects
• Expertise in drafting and negotiating environmental offsets and carbon sequestration agreements
• Excellent knowledge of land access agreements and arrangements necessary to support major projects
• Outstanding attention to detail with the ability to consistently produce accurate high quality work
• Excellent client service orientation with a desire to strengthen and build client relationships to continually contribute to the growth and success of the firm
• Outstanding interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
