About the Role

In this crucial role, you will offer expert guidance and support to drive excellence in Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) performance throughout the business.
Conduct audits and reviews of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Risk Assessments, while actively promoting awareness and understanding of these processes among employees
Develop, implement, and coordinate robust Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality Management Systems that enhance overall business performance and ensure compliance with industry standards
Offer expert advice, information, and support in Health & Safety compliance, assisting in maintaining adherence to regulatory, contractual, and company requirements, while aligning with community and stakeholder objectives
Drive continuous improvement in field performance and compliance by regularly attending worksite operations, providing on-the-ground coaching, mentoring, and support to teams

Please note: This role involves approximately 25% a year of field-based work with operational staff, requiring flexibility and willingness to travel around the Southwest Interconnect region of WA.

About You

A qualification in Health and Safety, Risk Management, or a related field, or alternatively, substantial demonstrated experience and knowledge in Health & Safety practices
Exceptional interpersonal and relationship management skills, with a proven ability to engage and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels on Health & Safety matters
Strong problem-solving abilities, with a track record of developing and implementing effective Health & Safety initiatives to address challenges and improve safety outcomes
Technical experience in power systems, overhead distribution, or transmission is highly desirable, though not essential
