The Opportunity
As a Communications Officer, you will play a pivotal role in managing communications and delivering campaigns that amplify the voices of workers and their communities. From crafting engaging content for social media and websites to managing events and producing high-quality materials, this role offers a chance to contribute to meaningful initiatives that create lasting impact.
You Will
- Write and edit engaging content for social media, website, and campaign materials.
- Draft media releases and respond to media enquiries.
- Produce flyers, newsletters, and other materials for workplace and campaign use.
- Manage organisational social media accounts, including daily updates and community engagement.
- Create visual and video content using tools like Canva and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Maintain and update website content through a content management system (CMS).
- Plan and implement communications campaigns to boost membership and influence outcomes.
- Develop messaging and strategies aligned with organisational goals.
- Attend and provide communications support for events, including creating promotional materials and key messages.
- Travel occasionally for regional and interstate events.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to develop and refine communication strategies.
- Collaborate with organisers and officials to support workplace and campaign initiatives.
- Use Adobe Creative Suite for design and content creation.
- Manage email campaigns using platforms like Mailchimp.
- Track and report on social media performance using analytics tools.
- Conduct video editing for multimedia content.
You are a creative and driven communicator with strong writing skills and a knack for crafting messages that engage and inspire. Your experience in managing social media, developing communications campaigns, and creating impactful materials makes you the ideal candidate. To succeed, you'll need:
- Proven ability to write clear, engaging content for various platforms.
- Experience managing organisational social media accounts and digital campaigns.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills.
- Basic design skills and familiarity with content management systems.
- A commitment to fairness, equality, and worker advocacy.
- Competitive salary of $65,000-$75,000 based on experience.
