About the Role

• Deliver routine dental hygiene services and oral health promotion to clients in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards within a hospital, fixed or mobile oral health clinic, or a community outreach setting.
• Exercise independent decision making and judgement, under the professional guidance of a more experienced practitioner, in appropriately referring patients for the management of conditions outside scope of defined clinical practice or level of clinical experience.
• Apply clinical judgement of increasing independence commensurate with level of clinical experience.
• Provide clinical education, advice, supervision, education and mentoring on dental hygiene services and care to less experienced team members.
• Continually develop clinical practice knowledge and expertise through active learning within the team and by engaging in professional development activities relating to clinical practice in general oral health care, oral health education and health promotion.
