Position: Cyber Security Support Specialist

Location: On-site at University of Queensland, St Lucia Campus

Eligibility: Must be Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident

Hours: Flexible between Monday to Friday, 7 am to 7 pm, and Saturday, 9 am to 12 pm AEST. Anticipated hours: 16-20 hours per week, with potential fluctuations due to business needs or exam periods

Anticipated Start Date and duration: 13th January 2025 - ongoing with potential for career progression

Full training provided over 6 weeks!

About the role:

Our client's mission is to enhance the cyber resilience of small businesses and protect them from cyber threats. As a Cyber Security Support Specialist, you'll play a pivotal role in providing critical support and solutions to our clients, helping them navigate and mitigate cyber risks.

As a Cyber Security Support Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include:

Engage professionally and empathetically with clients, providing phone-based support
Develop and maintain technical proficiency in cyber security across diverse technologies and operating systems
Provide hands-on assistance to improve clients' technical resilience across various devices and operating systems
Evaluate cyber resilience maturity and risks and referring complex cases to specialists if needed

About you:

Ideal candidate would be studying a suitable qualification. However, if you are not a student but have a passion for and an interest in cyber security, we also want to hear from you!

Successful candidate will have:

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including engaging people calmly and professionally who are under stress
Empathetic, conflict management and resolution skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Ability to develop and maintain an excellent understanding of application security configurations and features across diverse email and browser applications as well as social media accounts

Successful candidates will be required to hold a current Working with Children Check and National Police Check. Any offer of employment is subject to satisfactory findings of these checks.
