What you'll be doing
Clinical Psychologist provides community based acute mental health services for mental health consumers and their families who are referred to the Safeguards Child and Adolescent Mental Health Response Teams. The position will also provide expert clinical support to the team under the leadership of the Safeguards psychiatrist.

Selection Criteria
- Masters or Doctorate degree in clinical psychology or international equivalent with current registration with the Psychology Board of Australia and specialist endorsement in the area of clinical psychology.
- Extensive effective experience in conducting mental health assessments, providing evidence-based interventions and evaluating clinical outcomes, particularly in the area of Child and Adolescent Mental Health, with demonstrated understanding of the Mental Health Act (2007).
- Extensive contemporary experience and knowledge of psychological practice, as well as demonstrated understanding of the principles of trauma-informed care and its application when working with children/adolescents and families/carers.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in the provision of consumer-focused care.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team to accomplish service goals and improved consumer care and outcomes.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills and competence in the use of information technology systems.
- Ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes and lead ongoing quality improvement activities with other staff.
- Evidence of a current unrestricted driver's licence and the ability to maintain. Ability and willingness to drive/travel as the role requires. This may involve driving long distances and overnight stays.
This is a Category ‘A’ position, please read and understand NSW Health policy directive PD2024_015. All new employees must agree to comply with the requirements outlined in this policy. OASV requirements also include proof of vaccination against influenza and is compulsory for NSW Staff that enter any Residential Aged Care Facility (RACF) or who work in NSW Health owned and operated RACFs.
