What you'll be doing
The Manager Aboriginal Workforce and Development assists Southern NSW Local Health District (SNSWLHD) to achieve measurable Aboriginal Health outcomes and reach key performance indicators to close the gap in Aboriginal Health workforce disadvantages in line with the SNSWLHD Strategic Plan and the SNSWLHD Aboriginal Health Strategy.
Selection Criteria
- Be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent. Being Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander is a genuine occupational qualification for this position as described under Section 14 (d) of the Anti- Discrimination Act, 1977 (NSW).
- Tertiary qualifications in a health-related field and/or equivalent experience working in senior health management.
- Demonstrated ability to form collaborative working arrangements to positively influence internal and external senior stakeholders to achieve best outcomes within available resources.
- Demonstrated experience in project management of Aboriginal Workforce programs or initiatives, including the capacity to establish and maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in establishing partnerships, alliances and relationships with Aboriginal and mainstream employment service providers.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team to deliver a successful Aboriginal workforce service to clients which is both responsive to the specific cultural needs of Aboriginal staff, contemporary workforce issues and focused on achieving corporate goals.
- Demonstrated high degree of initiative and ability to deliver quality results.
- Evidence of a current unrestricted driver’s license and the ability to maintain. Ability and willingness to travel as the role requires. This may include driving long distances and overnight stays.

OASV requirements also include proof of vaccination against influenza and is compulsory for NSW Staff that enter any Residential Aged Care Facility (RACF) or who work in NSW Health owned and operated RACFs.
