The Role
An opportunity has become available for several Clinical Nurse (Inpatient Unit - Acute Medical Unit) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will

• Provide advanced clinical advice, education, and consultancy within the Acute Medical Unit
• Assess skill mix, acuity, and activity for current and foreseeable shifts
• Provide leadership to plan, manage, and evaluate patient care activities
• Monitor clinical staff capabilities and mentor beginning practitioners

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

• Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
• Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
• Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
• Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
• Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
• Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

• Permanent full time, permanent part time (up to 38 hours p.f.)
• Base salary ranging from $107 960 - $115 960 per annum, $54.44 - $58.30 per hour

About Us
The Acute Medical Unit is located on the 1st floor of Gold Coast Health's Robina Campus. Gold Coast Health is responsible for all public health services covering the Coomera River to the north, Mudgeeraba to the west and the New South Wales border to the south. The Acute Medical Unit provides direct, expert clinical care to all acute medical conditions within an inpatient setting. Medical conditions include, but are not limited to cardiac, respiratory, endocrine, aged care and neurology. A strong focus exists for patient and multidisciplinary education. The nurse is required to perform cardiac monitoring and provide care for respiratory conditions, general medical and aged care.

The Acute Medical unit also aims to build a positive rapport between the multidisciplinary team and the patient to assist patients to achieve both long and short-term improved health outcomes.
