Shipping Supervisor - Thermaflex (Abbeville, SC)
Responsible for activities related to shipping, receiving and coordination with trucking lines. Plans and facilitates activities of assigned personnel. Coordinates activities between shipping department and all other departments. Keys order information into the computer. Processes transactions with accuracy understanding and adhering to different processing rules for various transaction types. Assists Warehouse Manager with requested warehouse activities and essential functions which include but are not limited to the following functions listed below.
Essential Functions:

• Responsible for the supervision of all shipping activities.
• Plans and supervises all physical movement, location, storage and shipment of all products, materials or finished goods.
• Assures specific customer requests for packaging/shipping requirements.
• Assures B/L are accurate and complete.
• Performs inventory cycle count activity for inventory control
• Data entry, keying shipments, filing paperwork, and maintaining file/workspace organization
• Assures the appropriate storage of incoming goods and delivers to productions as required.
• Coordinates with carriers, routing, and freight pick-ups.
• Assures preparation of accurate related documents.
• Plans and assigns work to make the most efficient use of personnel to complete workloads.
• Investigates causes of delay or inadequate performance.
• Responsible for completing all shipping personnel performance appraisals in a timely manner.
• Flexible to work overtime and weekends

Secondary Duties:

• Assists customer service in handling customer complaints.
• Stays current with applicable transportation regulations and tariffs.
• Performs warehouse upkeep and organization.
• Assists with physical inventory activities.
• Forklift operation as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline preferred
• 3 – 5 years of experience in a related discipline
• Knowledge of warehousing principles and traffic management
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
• Effective interpersonal skills
• Requires licensing as a lift truck operator
