Procurement Technician

Duties
The Procurement Technician provides support for the tracking and accomplishment of procurement and purchasing activities. Primary duties include:- Reviewing purchase requests for completeness and accuracy.
- Coordinating and tracking the purchase and inventory related documents and activities.
- Preparing supporting documents for purchasing actions.
- Reviewing payment requests for conformance with contract terms and conditions.
- Supporting the GSA invoicing and control process, including validation of information from the Regional offices, to reconcile monthly GSA's leased vehicle usage invoices.
- Providing support and guidance to purchase card holders.
- Establishing and maintaining databases and sharing platforms for such activities as: contract administration, inventory management, and cross-functional operations task management.
- Providing general administrative support.
Requirements

- You must be a United States Citizen
- A 2-year probationary period is required for new Federal employees. New Federal employees who are veterans are subject to a 1 year probationary period.
- Merit Promotion applicants must submit a SF-50 to verify Status and grade
- Satisfactory completion of a background investigation is required
- Must be telework ready.
Qualifications
1) Work experience updating, tracking, and maintaining data systems; and
2) Proficiency with advanced Excel spreadsheet functionality; and
3) Work experience reconciling invoices; and
4) work experience providing general administrative support for an organization.
Such experience must be clearly documented in the applicant's resume.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, Ameri Corps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
If you are qualifying based on education alone, you must have one full year of graduate level education or superior academic achievement as defined by being in the upper third of your graduating class; or possessing a 3.0 GPA or higher over four years of education; or possessing a 3.5 GPA or higher during final 2 years of education. Such education must be from an accredited institution and demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work. You must submit an unofficial copy of your college transcript. You must submit evidence that any education completed in a foreign institution is equivalent to U.S. educational standards.Additional information

This Term Appointment will initially be for a three-year period, but may be extended for a total of five years. Should the need arise, this position may be made permanent without further competition.
As an employee on a Term Appointment, you will not acquire competitive status and you will not be covered by the agency's Interchange Agreement with the Office of Personnel Management, which allows for noncompetitive transfer from CNCS to other agencies in the competitive service of the federal government.
