Supply Chain Supervisor

Applicants should ideally have a sound knowledge of supply chain/logistics practice and management/leadership experience in the NHS or a similar large complex organisation. You must be confident, articulate and an aspiring leader able to assess supply chain issues, make appropriate decisions, understand related systems, communicate effectively with customers, and also engage, lead and motivate your team with confidence and energy. As the first level of supply chain management you will also be a key link between people/sites and senior managers ensuring our services and people are managed efficiently and effectively. Applicants must also be able to work across all UCLH sites as required and must be physically fit to undertake this role.
As a Supply Chain Supervisor, you will be responsible for the provision of an effective and professional Supply Chain service (materials management and receipt & distribution), including the management and leadership of internal supply chain teams. This includes the monitoring of the management of the supply of medical consumables, some non-medical consumables (exclusions are capital purchases, sterile services products, and pharmaceuticals) to user departments across all UCLH sites. This description is inclusive of all functions defined within the internal supply chain and its associated areas including
receiving, checking, receipt, distribution, ordering, store management, maintaining appropriate stock levels, and assisting in department improvement and transformational activity The role is required to manage, support and develop the operational and strategic management of the supply chain teams across UCLH sites while maintaining professional and effective relationships with all key stakeholders. Working collaboratively with other UCLH Supply Chain supervisors to implement and adopt standardised best practice initiatives across all sites and in line with Supply Chain Manager instructions. Ensuring that all Supply Chain staff adhere to departmental policies, procedures, instructions and compliance with KPIs and objectives. You would be responsible for any site-based Risk Management activity including H&S risk assessments to be completed on an annual basis.

Supporting the Supply Chain Managers with the design, consultation and implementation of new processes and procedures as required. The role will also include investigating discrepancies, problem solving, contacting suppliers, conveying information to stakeholders in a timely manner and has an element of physical activity. The post holder will be expected to use their initiative and work independently with a minimum level of supervision, utilising their strong organisational skills to ensure tasks and competing priorities are managed and completed on time or by the deadlines set. Where necessary the individual may also be required to support the multi-disciplinary supply chain redesign and efficiency projects across the Trust including the implementation and sustainability of inventory management, closure of and opening of sites/wards and developing the service.
