The post holder will work as part of a multi-agency Local Resilience Forum (LRF) Co-ordination Team within the Dyfed Powys Local Resilience Forum (DPLRF) on behalf of the local authorities of Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and Powys.
As LRF Co-ordinator you will work to ensure that the DPLRF develops appropriate arrangements for coordinated and effective emergency planning to enhance the region’s response, resilience and capability in the event of emergencies (including pandemics). You will also help ensure Category Responders compliance with all statutory requirements of the Civil Contingencies Act 2004.
You will work as part of a multi-agency team with responsibility for organising and delivering their joint workstreams. You will assist in the preparation and continuing development of multi-agency arrangements, training programmes, projects, exercises on a LRF wide basis. In addition to assisting and supporting Local Authorities in response to major incidents / emergencies incidents as required at tactical and operational level, particularly during a multi-agency response. You will represent the Local Authorities and the LRF Partnership Team in various LRF sub-groups and other inter-agency working/project groups, including (Welsh Government) identifying opportunities for closer cooperation, mutual aid, funding and resource sharing opportunities.
The post holder will need to have extensive and recent management and operational experience at a senior level covering a range of disciplines that are integral to the Emergency Planning agenda in addition to a wide knowledge of emergency planning and the Civil Contingencies Act 2004.
